Prizes for members of the MEEP Lab

A number of prizes have been awarded to members of the MEEP lab over the past month

Professor Simon Ho was named as the 2015 recipient of the Edgeworth David Medal, awarded by the Royal Society of New South Wales for “distinguished contributions by a young scientist under the age of 35 years”.

PhD student Charles Foster has been awarded a Royal Society of New South Wales Scholarship, as well as a Hansjörg Eichler Scientific Research Grant from the Australasian Systematic Botany Society.

All three MEEP Honours students won prizes for their research theses. Monica Fahey was a joint winner of the Ilma Brewer Prize, awarded for “excellence in plant sciences”. Evelyn Todd won the Professor Spencer Smith-White Prize for the “greatest proficiency in the field of genetics”. Cara Van Der Wal won the John H. Elliot Prize for the “best thesis in animal biology”, as well as the William John Dakin Memorial Prize in Zoology.
