Tim is a postdoctoral research associate in the MEEP Lab and is hosted by Nate Lo. He is also an Associate Lecturer in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.
Tim completed his PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Nate Lo and Simon Ho at the University of Sydney. His thesis examined the evolution of mound building among Australian termites in the genus Coptotermes, and the maintenance of unusual caste and sex ratios in the species Coptotermes lacteus and Schedorhinotermes intermedius. In 2011 Tim completed his BSc (Advanced) (Honours) at the University of Sydney. His Honours research was on the terrestrial isopod species Spherillo grossus and its phylogeography on the Australian east coast, as well as its morphological variability and its relationship with the endosymbiotic bacterium Wolbachia pipientis.
