Manuela Cascini

Manuela is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Evolutionary Biology with interests in phylogenomics, molecular evolution, and conservation genomics. She is integrating genomic, morphological, and bioinformatic approaches to investigate evolutionary rates across different parts of the tree of life.

Before joining the MEEP Lab, Manuela worked across government and academia, applying genomic and bioinformatic tools to a range of conservation and evolutionary questions. She completed her PhD (2020) at the Queensland University of Technology under the supervision of Matthew Phillips and Peter Prentis, and her MSc (2013, cum laude) and BSc (2011) at the University of Bologna.
