Amy is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the MEEP Lab, with research interests spanning phylogenomics, population genetics, and conservation biology. She is particularly passionate about fish, and has served on the Threatened Fishes Committee for the Australian Society for Fish Biology since 2018. In the MEEP Lab, Amy is trading fish for flora, building a “tree of trees” with the New South Wales Plant Tree of Life (NSWPToL) project to explore the evolutionary origins and relationships of native plants.
Prior to joining the MEEP Lab, Amy held postdoc positions with Matt McGee at Monash University and Culum Brown at Macquarie University. She completed her PhD in 2021 at Macquarie under the supervision of John Alroy, studying the macroecology and conservation biology of Australian freshwater fishes through big data approaches.
